My concern is did they touch on the topic of those of us who HAVE wanted children from our early 20's but couldn't? I'm 36 and have had three miscarriages. Me and my boyfriends genetic testing was normal. The genetic testing of the baby was "normal" for a miscarriage (the most common chromosomal abnormality for miscarriages, it's one that just "happens"). I have always wanted kids, and am a pediatric nurse, but had never had a relationship at an early age. I wanted kids at 24, but here I am at 36 and no children. It tortures me every day that I still don't have children. And not because I chose to wait -- I just haven't been able to carry a pregnancy. We don't all chose to wait.Kimberlynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1952246248493301572.post-11608487647117330072012-01-28T17:45:31.957-07:002012-01-28T17:45:31.957-07:00Thanks for your comment, Misty. A woman has a finite amount of eggs so it would stand to reason that with an earlier onset of menses she could then have earlier onset of menopause which would play a role in fertility and overall health of the uterus. Again, a really good point that makes me think! It used to be common for young women to get their periods when they were 15-16, and now it is not uncommon for girls to get their periods before the age of 12. I wonder how this has affected fertility in later years. I mean, it would seem that women would reach menopause earlier, but I wonder if there are other complications.Mistyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12322567329514640103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1952246248493301572.post-43766613987650642722012-01-28T16:53:08.834-07:002012-01-28T16:53:08.834-07:00I have friends giving birth at 21 and with all kin...I have friends giving birth at 21 and with all kind of complications.
