7-Keto is a by product of a hormone in our bodies that help to keep us young. As we age, 7-Keto deteriorates and as a consequence the metabolism slows down. Dr. Oz #2 Belly Blasting Supplement to Burn Fat: Forskolin

Clarise also brought a photo of herself in a bra and shorts and says she would like to say goodbye and good riddance to the excess body fat. She's ready for the fat to be gone. Diet and exercise haven't worked for her and it's been a challenge to keep up the effort.

Dr. Oz #4 Belly Blasting Supplement to Reduce Stress: Relora

Tammy was surprised looking at her photo thinking she should have gained weight because of the stresses in her life, including appearing on The Dr. Oz Show! As a wife and mom, she finds her day is busy and filled with stress.

Dr. Oz says that stress is the number on reason women gain weight. He recommends using the supplement relora to bust stress. Relora is the combination of two herbs that have been used for thousands of years to promote relaxation. Regulating cortisol, says Dr. Oz, is the secret to relora's ability to burn extra belly fat.

If you gain weight in response to stress, Dr. Oz says that relora could be a benefit. Dr. Oz recommends taking 250mg of relora three times daily at every meal to reduce cortisol, especially at night.

Dr. Oz Appetite Suppressant to Kill Hunger

Emotional eating happens when you're feeling stressed and overwhelmed. Compulsive eating is brought on by low levels of serotonin in the brain. When serotonin levels are low, depression and over-eating goes on the rise.

Could saffron extract be the miracle appetite suppressant that kills cravings and helps to gain control of over eating? Dr. Oz says this is the first he has heard of saffron.

[Well, it's the second time he's talked about saffron this season. On the December 5, 2011 episode of The Dr. Oz Show, Dr. Pina LoGuidice, recommended taking 15mg of saffron daily to support a healthy mood.]

Dr. Oz showed an animation detailing how when you eat those carbohydrates you crave they turn on chemicals in the brain: serotonin, dopamine, and epinephrin. Taking saffron extract stimulates those same chemicals without eating the foods and the supplement has no calories.

Dr. Oz says to look for a saffron extract that says satiereal and take 88-90mg, twice daily, which was the amount that was studied. In the study, explains Dr. Oz, participants were able to eat whatever they wanted and found that the snacked less and their overall intake was less.

Two audience members, Martha and Devon, are self-proclaimed emotional eaters who agreed to take saffron extract over a three-day weekend.

Martha believes that emotions drive her eating, her kids lead her to eat. After Martha took saffron extract, she says she didn't get the cravings and urges. Over the weekend she attended a birthday party and was able to have a small piece of cake without craving more or hearing a call from the sugar.
Devon said on a scale of 1 to 10, her appetite before saffron extract was at a 10 or 11. She would reach for whatever was around when she was hungry. Over the weekend, Devon said she noticed a decrease in the amount and intensity of hunger says her appetite was more of a 7 on the scale.

Over the three-day weekend, Martha lost 3 pounds and Devon lost 5 pounds just by using saffron extract.

Dr. Oz's Plan to Eliminate Your Stress

He calls it a full-proof plan to reduce stress and it comes from the unstressful man himself, Dr. Deepak Chopra, author of The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success: A Practical Guide to the Fulfillment of Your Dreams [published in 1994].

Reducing stress has a positive impact on health and how long you live. Dr. Chopra says his single most important experience in life occurred during meditation. He says during meditation blood pressure goes down, cortisol levels are lowered, adrenalin is reduced, and the immune system is stimulated. Dr. Chopra says with meditation you can do less and accomplish more.

Dr. Oz says he hears from viewers continuously about how tired and exhausted they are and that is why he made reducing stress a part of his Transformation Nation. For half his life, Dr Oz says he has been practicing meditation.

Dr. Chopra explains there are two misconceptions about mediation. The first misconception of meditation is that no thoughts are allowed. Thoughts are part of the process, Dr. Chopra explained, you're not supposed to push out thoughts, let them happen.

The second misconception of meditation is people believe they don't have enough time. Dr. Chopra explained that if you meditate consistently for five years you will love 12 years longer, so you will have more time. He says if you can brush your teeth everyday then you can spend a few minutes meditating.

Step 1: Sit in a comfortable position with the spine relatively erect.

Step 2: Say the mantra “Shivo Hum”. Speak it then say it mentally without moving your lips or tongue.

Step 3: Think of an experience of love or someone you love and put awarness in your heart.

Step 4: Ask yourself what do you want. Reflect on what you want.

Step 5: Relax into your body and open your eyes.

That's the sequence even if you do it for a few minutes or 5 minutes a day.

Dr. Oz: Dr. Chopra's 4 Secrets To Fight Stress

Dr. Oz says to make these part of your life daily just as Dr. Chopra makes them a part of his life.

Stress-Less Secret #1: Starter Breakfast
1 tablespoon of flaxseed oil
Hard boiled egg
Tomatoes
Cucumber
Drizzle with olive oil

Dr. Chopra shared that he watches old tapes of the show Candid Camera. There's nothing like a joke to counter balance stress. Have a good laugh and feel the stress release.

Natural Remedy for Joint Pain
The connective tissue in the joints can become inflamed an no matter how you move those joints, the pain remains. Dr. Oz recommends red mineral algae, 2400mg daily, to support healthy inflammation levels. With 70 minerals from the seam red mineral algae can play a role in supporting bone density. He says red mineral algae is safe to take over a long period for chronic pain.

Natural Remedy for Tooth Pain
It's back to basics for tooth pain. Dr. Oz recommends sprinkling salt on a garlic clove, place the clove on the affect tooth, and bite down to release the juice.

A garlic paste can be made with 2-3 cloves of garlic and ½ teaspoon of salt. Place the paste on the affected tooth.

Dr. Oz explained that garlic has natural anti-microbial properties which can directly benefit the infection. Salt, he says, can dehydrate the area to reduce pain.

Natural Remedy for Sinus Pain
There was nothing on the table. This remedy you do yourself. It's humming. Dr. Oz says that nitrous oxide is released when you hum and that can help to open the sinus passages by as much as 15 times. Humming may also help to prevent infection through vibration of the membranes in the head and it also brings more air flow. Dr. Oz says it may sound dumb but it's impact can be extraordinarily effective. Choose a song you like because it's going to take a while.

  2. Thanks for your comment. First, you should talk to your doctor to determine if any of these supplements would be right for you or if they could pose possible interactions with any current therapies you could be undergoing.

    That said, caraway seeds, being a food, would be the most basic and are supportive of digestion, in addition to bloating, which most people can benefit from.

    From there, you might want to consider one supplement to target a specific concern. If you feel you need support for all the issues covered by the suggested supplements, then perhaps start with the issue you feel the greatest need to change.

    Starting multiple new supplements at one time can pose challenges in distinguishing which product is working and, if there is a reaction, distinguishing which product could be causing a reaction.

    When there are several options to chose from, it can be wise to chose one and have that be a starting place. Trying one product for at least a month can give a good sense of wether it will be effective or appropriate for your specifically.

    It's tempting to look at all of the recommendations and think that taken in combination would provide a magical, positive change. I would encourage you to take it one step at a time and listen to your body.

  5. Thanks for your comment, Anonymous. It's true that if you tried to buy everything recommended on The Dr. Oz Show it's going to add up to a hefty bill. I think the idea is to choose products, foods, lifestyle changes that may target your greatest concern and see where that can take you for a month or two. Dr. Oz himself tends to say to start with one product first.

    Many of the products recommended on The Dr. Oz Show may not be available at your local store. If that's the case, it can be found online - which can add to the over-all cost when you factor in shipping charges.

    Getting healthy doesn't have to be about buying any or all the products mentioned on a television show. Getting healthy is about making changes in your life that make the most sense for you.

    For some people that can mean buying some supplements but for others it can mean preparing your own meals more often, it can mean trying to incorporate a new vegetable every other week, it can mean going for a walk around the neighborhood.

    If it doesn't make sense, or feel comfortable, to you to buy one or any supplement then try doing something that feels right and that will fit your budget. Borrowing a yoga DVD from your local library doesn't cost anything and it can provide exercise and a nice stress reliever.

    1. Thanks for your question. I wish I could give you an answer but that's a question best posed to your doctor. I encourage you to start a conversation with your doctor to see what would, and would not, be appropriate for you given your situation and therapy.

  7. I've been taking the supplements (with exception of the saffron extract) and I've been having gas and stomach upset. Is this common?

    1. It sounds like your body is trying to tell you something. If you're experiencing these symptoms they could very well be side-effects. I would encourage you to stop taking the supplements.

      Are all of these supplements new to you? Starting several new supplements at one time doesn't allow a person to get a sense of how each one is working or not working.

      When I worked in the vitamin aisle, we would tell people to start with one supplement. We would encourage customers to give one a try for several days or a week and then add the next. Staggering new supplements like this allows the user to better understand how each product is reacting to their body and to know if one causes a reaction.

      It's always a good idea to talk to your doctor before starting supplements especially if you are on medications or undergoing treatment.

    1. Many brands offer Relora and 7-Keto. I did a search on Amazon and found both products on this page http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss/189-3994908-6441057?url=search-alias%3Dhpc&field-keywords=relora.

      I have experience with NOW brand, which has both products and are both listed on the web page, and that may be a good brand to try.
