Dr. Oz Has Montel Williams Discovered the Fountain of Youth?

Ten years ago, Montel Williams was diagnosis with Multiple sclerosis (MS). Mr. Williams says that most people living with MS tend to live out their days in a wheelchair. A doctor told Mr. Williams that four years after his diagnosis his disease would progress to the extent that the would be confined to a wheelchair.

In his previous appearances on The Dr. Oz Show, Mr. Williams says he needed to sit on a tall stool because of the pain he experienced. Now he doesn't need that. In the last few months he says he has reduced his pain by reducing inflammation. Today, he works out every day, eats right, takes his MS medications and he says it all provides him with a better quality of life.

[Click the links to read about Montel's two previous visits this season to The Dr. Oz Show:

At age 55, Mr. Williams looks great and feels great and he is defying the prognosis doctors gave him at the beginning of his MS journey. Doctors told him he would lose 20% of life expectancy. He was angry with the doctors who told him what he was going to be what his life was going to be like. So he decided to defy the odds and provide his body the best opportunity to thrive.

Dr. Oz: Montel Williams Fountain of Youth Plan

Mr. Williams' plan is for everyone, any age, both male and female, and he says to get the kids involved.

Dr. Oz: Montel Williams Youth Plant - In the Morning:

In a two-gallon pot, mix the following ingredients to make several 16 ounce servings. Drink one 16 ounce serving daily and store the rest in the refrigerator or freezer.

2 pints pineapple
2 pints cut up watermelon
2 quarts coconut
1 bag baby spinach
1 bag frozen blueberries
2 green apples or 2 bananas

On a previous episode this season Dr. Oz recommended watermelon to increase the libido. Since Mr. Williams her that, watermelon juice has been a part of his daily diet. He recommends to get the kids involved making the smoothie.

Vitamin D-Chlorophyll Cocktail
Two hours later, Mr. Williams says to take a Vitamin D-Chlorophyll Cocktail. He says chlorophyl is one of the best super foods on the planet. Dr. Oz says he didn't realize the power of chlorophyll and explained that chlorophyl supports the intestinal flora which in turn supports the immune response.

Mr. Williams recommends taking 1,000iu of Vitamin D daily along with 100 – 300mg of chlorophyl daily.

Dr. Oz: Montel Williams Youth Plant - In the afternoon:

B12 Mega Dose Injection
Mr. Williams injects himself with a 1ml syringe of Vitamin B12. Sound expensive? He says that the most expensive inject-able B12 he has found on line is $42 for a one month supply add the cost of syringes at about $12 and the daily total averages $1.80.

Dr. Oz asked Mr. Williams to inject him with the B12. He shared that he and his wife have a running argument on which is better. Lisa Oz says that injecting B12 gets into the blood stream faster while Dr. Oz prefers the supplement form because it provides other B vitamins along with the B12. Dr. Oz says you can get them same amount of B12 in a supplement as what you can get from an injection.

Dr. Oz says he prefers the lozenge form that includes B6, B12 and folic acid.

Three Root Tea
Three root tea contains the adaptogenic herbs ashwagandha, rhodiola, and schisandra. Mr. Williams says these herbs target three forms of stress: stress, emotional stress, and environmental stress. Dr. Oz says these herbs are time-tested and the taste is tolerable.

Adaptogens get the cells to think that they are younger then they really are and help them to behave as if they are younger. Dr. Oz says that studies have shown that fruit flies given rhodila live longer.

Mr. Williams has walked with a limp yet, he says, since taking three root tea for the past 4 – 5 months his limp has reduced.

Dr. Oz: Montel Williams Youth Plant - In the evening:

He says that after three days of eating this much garlic the smell isn't noticed. He says to eat 10 cloves of garlic everyday. Crush the garlic and put it over most foods. He says he uses the 10 cloves of garlic as a soup base.

Dr. Oz says the foam roller provides deep tissue massage to the lymphatic system that plays a role in immune support.

Mr. Williams is a spokesperson for Tommie Copper copper infused compression wear. Dr. Oz says that compression wear helps to keep muscles in place, awake, and alive. Compression stimulates muscles and can help to reduce pain. Technology for compression wear has been around for a long time but this product takes that technology further by infusing it with copper that is emitted onto the skin.

Mr. Williams shared that he has previously had rotater cup shoulder surgery which caused him to lose 15% of his shoulder's mobility. Less than a year ago, he says, he couldn't life his arm over his shoulder. Since wearing the copper infused compression wear, he says his mobility has greatly increased to where he now only has a 5% reduction in mobility.

Mr. Williams says the compression wear can provide support for knee pain, elbow concerns, and carpel tunnel syndrome. And, the underwear, he says, can help to increase blood flow. Mr. Williams recommended that every woman in the audience buy these for their husband today.

Shiitake Hot and Sour Soup

All the ingredients in this soup are immune enhancing. Food is your best medicine, after all.

The hot in this soup comes from jalapeno peppers – seeds and all – which are also great for circulation, along with ginger, an antioxidant that is great for nausea and has antimicrobial properties. The sour comes from lemon juice.

Break off the stems of the shiitake mushrooms and save them for making stock. The stems are too chewy for this soup and provide wonderful nutrients in a stock.

Chef Tsai recommends using tamari that is labeled to be “naturally brewed”. If it doesn't say “naturally brewed”, the product could contain colorings instead of brewed ingredients.

Which of these foods contain highest amount of good bacteria to keep your immunity strong?
a. Greek yogurt
b. Celery
c. Sour cream

Dr. Oz Bonus Tip! Cold Remedies

Dr. Oz has used these cold remedies for years.

To shorten the length of a cold, he recommends taking 100mg of bilberry three times a day. Bilberry is available in tea, pill, or liquid form.

To fight a cold while you sleep, Dr. Oz recommends a garlic foot rub. Crush garlic and mix with olive oil. Before going to bed, rub the garlic and olive oil mix then put socks on the feet. He says the garlic will seep into the blood stream to kill off viruses and bacteria and to support the immune system.
